I am a physiotherapist with an interested and developed speciality in the use of technology as part of therapy. Technology is already an integrated part of most of our lives and the innovation of technology within physiotherapy is no exception.

Physiotherapy

As a physiotherapist I am motivated to ensure patients experience the best possible care, taylored to their individual need. My approaches include both traditional and technology influenced methods - depending upon the individual patient preference. All physiotherapy programmes are goal centred with the patient being fully involved with what those goals are. Its your rehab and the patient needs to be working towards a meaningful goal.

Technology

With 20+ years of physiotherapy expereince I have spent the last 15 years researching and applying technology into my practice. As the years have progressed, the technology has rapidly advanced in its sensitivity to movement and in how patients can interact with it. There are numerous fantastic options to make physical rehabilitation for a vast array of conditions fun, enjoyable and engaging. Conditions range from brain injury to sprained ankle ligaments with most ailments that benefit from physiotherapy also benefiting from the interactive technology approach.

I am enthusiastic to continue to explore how technology can enhance some areas of physiotherapy and am motivated to share my findings and knowledge with the wider professional community through blogs and podcasts as well as via social media - links at the bottom of the page for those interested.
